Bryan Davey, PhD, BCBA-D

Dr. Bryan Davey currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of HOPE Group, President of Highland Behavioral and Chief Clinical Officer at Ensure Billing in Phoenix, Arizona. His professional experiences include being an administrator, past certified special education teacher, consultant to schools, businesses, behavior analytic agencies nationwide, and agency owner. His clinical expertise includes training organizational personnel in the application of behavioral principles and procedures, functional behavioral assessments, intervention implementation, and effective teaching practices. His expertise in autism insurance laws and benefits, practice management, and insurance billing and coding are nationally recognized.

Dr. Davey has developed a unique understanding of how insurance companies operate with regard to Autism coverage and ABA services. His experiences as a provider, agency administrator and consultant to businesses and carriers afford him a working knowledge of licensing, credentialing, insurance billing and claims adjudication. He assists organizations with implementing policies and procedures for working with insurance companies in states that have and have not passed autism insurance laws. Dr. Davey actively supports the process of developing, implementing and monitoring ABA benefits for large self-insured companies.

Dr. Davey consults with Fortune 500 Companies, state agencies, insurance carriers, school districts, families and behavior analytic agencies across the United States. He has presented his research and conducted workshops at numerous regional and national conferences including ABAI, APBA, CalABA and NYSABA.

Behavior Analytic Services and Healthcare Coverage

During this presentation, participants will learn the process to become a credentialed healthcare provider recognized by insurance companies. Dr. Davey will briefly cover the intricacies of operating a behavior analytic agency in light of working with insurance carriers. Some of the topics to be covered include credentialing, contracting, and negotiations. In addition, attendees will learn about covered and excluded benefits, obtaining authorizations for services, billing codes, including the American Medical Association's (AMA) temporary Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) health insurance billing codes for adaptive behavior assessment and treatment services.
